BollaCreso Vino da Tavola
|
This noble red wine, the young heir of a long wine-making tradition, was named
after Croesus, the King of Lydia, who was renowned for his riches and elegance.
Creso is a Cabernet Sauvignon that is aged for nearly 18 months in French oak
barrels according to the Bordeaux technique. It is blended with a small percentage
(which varies from year to year) of Corvina wine from Verona, whose grapes are
harvested later in the season to increase their sugar content and undergo separate
vinification. Since Corvina has less tannin than Cabernet, it smoothes the tartness
and gives the wine a softer and rounder flavour. It adds a touch of Veronese flair
that sets Creso apart from many other Cabernet wines produced around the world.
